People are so nosey! I know it's human nature to be interested in others, but some people are just so blatent about it! Travelling to work on the train in the morning, I never get a seat. If I had a seat I'd read my book, but I'd just fall over if I tried to do that standing up. So instead, I stare out the window, try to stop myself from falling into the bloke standing too close to me, and People Watch. On Wednesday, I was standing in the middle of the carriage, with a man in front of me, and a woman in front of him, with her back to him. Her phone beeped - she had a text message. I could see the bloke behind her's eyes glance down over her shoulder, then up again, then down again when he thought no-one was looking. The woman couldn't see that he was watching so he just carried on reading her message. so she replied to the message, with Mr. Nosey still watching, and put her phone away again. Well, it must've been an interesting conversation beacuse when her phone beeped again a few minutes later, he didn't even bother to be subtle about it. He was actually craning his head over her shoulder to read the thing. She was still oblivious. I got quite paranoid the next day when I was writing a text on the train, and kept the screen well hidden from any prying eyes. I don't like the thought of being watched!

So anyway, yesterday on the way to work, it happened again. Two women were sitting next to each other near where I was standing. One was reading a book, the other was doing nothing. Then she got a form of some sort out of her bag (it looked like a job application), and started writing on it. This, it seems, was much more exciting than the other woman's book, so she starts reading this form instead. How rude! That's a bit personal for other people to be reading! Then again, I guess if you don't want other people to read your stuff, you shouldn't make it look so interesting on a train full of sardines! I think the funniest thing is when Mr. and Mrs. Nosey clock me watching them. Then they look all sheepish and turn away. Hee hee!

Friday nights at work are cool! I wondered what all the beer sitting in the fridge all week was for, and yesterday I found out...us! Everyone stays for beer and a chat on Friday nights, watching Top Of The Pops (or in yesterday's case, Comic Relief) in reception. If it's someone's birthday that week, which it was, we have nibbles and champagne too! It's a great way to get to know everyone, and I got rather trashed! Fortunately I can do my journey home on autopilot now, otherwise I might've been there all night!

I thought I'd have a lie-in today, seeing as I've been up early all week. I woke up at 8am! Mind you, that IS a lie-in now. 2 hours later than the 6am I ususally wake up at! And then I couldn't go back to sleep! Hmph! Ah well, it's a lovely sunny day so I suppose I should go out and enjoy it...
