Friday was one of those days where I really shouldn't have got out of bed.
I wear contact lenses, and about 6 weeks ago, Boots decided it'd be a great idea to change the packaging of their saline (the stuff you rinse your lenses in before putting them into your eyes) from a big, cumbersome tin, to a plastic bottle, exactly the same size and shape as their peroxide (the stuff you use to clean and disinfect your lenses overnight), the only distinguishing feature being a blue cap on the saline. Now I really don't have my wits about me first thing in the morning, and I certainly can't see properly - hence the need for the contact lenses! I knew it was going to happen, and on Friday, it finally did. I got the two bottles mixed up and rinsed my right lens with peroxide before putting it in my eye. Peroxide is effectively bleach. 'nuff said. It hurt! I'm very lucky that I put my lenses in in the bathroom. If I'd done it in my bedroom I wouldn't have been able to see to get to the bathroom to wash my eye out, because of course, as soon as I put the offending lens in, my eye clamped shut with the pain and I couldn't get it open again until I filled the sink with water and dunked my head in! So I was late for work, in pain all day, and had to wear my glasses which aren't quite the right prescription anymore, so I had to be very careful not to keep walking into things! I've written a snottogram to Boots insisting that they change their packaging to something more sensible - otherwise they'll lose my custom! Hmph!
I've spent most of my Sunday entering competitions on the 'net. I had planned to sunbathe, but it's been cloudy today - so yesterday was probably our last day of summer! Just found something new on rathergood.com. Hee hee!
Spent Friday night cleaning the kitchen for the estate agent inspector to come round and check that nothing was amiss. She was supposed to come at 11am. At 10:20am, having just got out of the shower, I heard the doorbell go! Typical. Everyone else was in bed so I had to answer the door in my towel. And she didn't even look that thoroughly at the house! I think she was just checking we hadn't broken stuff. Ah well, at least we have a nice clean house for once!!
