Today I have been mostly...defrosting the fridge! James will insist on putting his bottle of water in the freezer compartment, resulting in a huge build-up of ice. So we set it defrosting yesterday, and it still wasn't finished this morning! So we gave it a bit of a hand by chipping away at the crap with a knife. Hey - it's not my fridge!
More pigeon antics went on today. There's a nest (read: hole in t' ground), on the roof of the building next door which we can see from the window outside VT, and we've been watching these baby pigeons growing up. One is quite normal looking, the other, an ugly fucker! Today, they managed to climb onto the wall. Then they looked exhausted, poor things. All the while Mummy pigeon was casting her beady eyes over them, and giving us very dirty looks for spying on her babies. Have you ever seen a pigeon give a dirty look before? Fascinating, it really is.
On the bus on the way home this group of teenagers got on, and started writing graffiti all over the walls of the bus. I was sat quite near the back and two of them came and sat behind me. I heard one of them say "draw on her hair", and then felt my hair being pulled, ever so slightly, at which point I turned round and calmly(!) informed him of the benefits to his health of NOT doodling on my person. They were quiet after that. The kids of today eh! Threaten them with dismemberment and they'll leave you alone :o)
My parents have had to extend their holiday in France 'til Friday. They were supposed to be coming home yesterday but the airports (and pretty much everywhere else, it seems) were on strike. Something to do with pensions I think. I'm sure they'll manage somehow...
They're actually doing it. I didn't think they would, but they've taken away the boards, and the brand spanking new cafe in the piss-tunnel at Tottenham Court Road looks near ready to open! No-one will eat there. They'd be mad to. It turns my stomach just walking through that place, let alone buying food there! Ick!
Has anyone been watching Countdown (or "Cuntdown" as it's affectionately known!) lately? There's been this kid on there for about 8 days now with the best comedy beard in the world! Most of the time he scores over 100, and he's only 19! But the beard is the main reason I keep watching!
Heard a wonderful announcement over the intercom while walking up the escalator on the way home. "Can Richard meet his Elephant & Castle colleagues and toilet paper and bags upstairs as soon as possible?!" (sic) Ok then...
