Well - training sucked arse!

No - it wasn't all bad, there was just a lot to take in, and it was all being bombarded at me at once. I think it'll be better tomorrow when Marie and Simon are training me, as theirs seems to be a more laid back attitude. As in - I will learn, but I don't have to learn it all TODAY!

I kept thinking to myself how overwhelmed I felt when I was first learning to process photos, and how I thought I'd never understand all the terminology. But I did, and I can't believe it was ever that difficult now. So I imagine VT will be the same. As soon as I realise that I don't have to use all the buttons at once (or in fact at all for a lot of them), my brain will stop screaming "dear god nooooo!" at me! I did learn how to timecode DVs and Digibetas today, which is a good start, but I can't help thinking that I'm not meant to know all this stuff for some reason...

I worked at Boots yesterday. Oh how I laughed! Remember the contact lens story of a few weeks ago? Well, having received a letter back from Boots last week, in effect blaming me for risking my eyesight ("the customer had a duty of care..."), as well as telling me all the subtle differences between the bottles, which is all very well, but the fact is I did confuse them, and something should be done! Raaa! So anyway, I was wandering round the store yesterday, and just happened to walk past the contact lens area. And what did I see? I saw bottles of saline, still in their new "improved" *ahem* packaging, but with one tiny difference. Not content with confusing us by putting it in the same bottle as the peroxide, they've now changed the colour of the lid from its ever so slightly distinguishable blue, to white! Exactly the same white as on the peroxide bottles! Oh I did chuckle...
