The chaos! Oh the chaos! It was hilarious!

I finished my shift on Thursday at 8pm, about an hour after the power went out in central London. I was told that the Central Line was down, and was given directions to the nearest bus stop which would take me to Bond Street to get the Jubilee Line. I thought I'd have a go at getting on the Central Line first, which was running! "Hoorah!" Thought I. "I'll get home ok after all!" Big mistake. I got to Bond Street and found that the Jubilee Line was closed! So then I had to find a bus that went from Bond Street to Charing Cross. Found it, jumped on it, and after 15 minutes and having gone about five inches, jumped off again and decided to walk. So had a slight detour through Soho on my way home from work. It was so crowded! I think most people just decided it was too difficult to get home and that they should just get pissed instead. Once I got to Charing Cross and found that most of the trains had been cancelled as well, I settled in for a long wait. It was quite amusing watching people scrambling to get onto trains just before they were leaving, then swearing at the doors when they closed in front of them. These were the same people who stood there looking at the signs for ten minutes before deciding that they DID actually want to get on the train! Dumbasses. After about half an hour of waiting my train came. I walked onto it (with people running past me), got a seat and happily read my book. It's amazing the panic a little power failure can cause!

Yesterday I walked past Giles on my way to get lunch. He's much cuter in real life! Except for the earring. Does nothing for him...

Today I'm at work. There's very little to do, but I managed to make some work - by breaking the printer! I managed to get a piece of paper jammed in the back wheel. I only figured out it was stuck in the back wheel after pulling apart every other part of the printer to try and find it! Having discovered the location of the jam, and pulling the wheel out (which I probably shouldn't have done, but I'm used to pulling printers apart from working at Boots), I found that the paper was wound really tightly round the wheel, and no amount of prodding and poking was going to free it. So I put it all back together and tried to find someone to help me fix it. Of course no-one is around on a Saturday, and apparently our engineers don't fix the printers anyway. I was told to call the number on the side of the printer...there was no number. So I just stuck a note on it saying it was broken and left it. What else can I do? I would sort it out on Monday, but I'm going on holi-holi-holiday!!!!!

See you in two weeks!
